Welcome to dev.qmailrocks.org, the proving grounds of the qmailrocks.org qmail installation. The purpose of this site, as its name implies, is to give public access to the latest developmental releases of the qmailrocks.org qmail installation. This site is my sandbox, so to speak, where I will make available new and experimental versions of the installation guide BEFORE they are released on the main site. Here you will find downloads of the latest QMR releases as well as modified steps of the QMR install that have not been released yet.

Anything found on this development site should NOT be thought of as "stable" in any way. Items found here are in a "beta release" format and should only be used by those who wish to test new and experimental features and provide feedback both to me and the qmailrocks community. If you are looking for the latest "stable" version of the qmailrocks.org qmail installation guide, go here. Otherwise, enjoy the dev material!

Development Release Summary----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 26th, 2007 - QMR 3.0 progress report

Yeah, I'm taking forever and a day to finish this damn thing. I just completed the updates to the Entourage setup page. My job would be so much easier if everyone just used Macs and FreeBSD. :)

Development Guide --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep, only for FreeBSD right now. You don't like it? Too bad. You'll either have to wait or be a little clever.

Development Release Change Log -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The focus of the 3.0 release is "security". This new guide is going to require SSL and/or TLS encrypted connections on both pop3 and smtpd connections. It's also integrating the latest version of John Simpson's combined patch. Naturally, since the guide is going to be changed considerably with the addition of the secure features, the install scripts and so forth will also change. By the way, if you take the name "John Simpson", re-arrange it a bit, add some letters and take some letters away it spells Dan Bernstein. Aha!
